Herbs to Support the Prostate
Cernitina powder provides anti-inflammatory properties, prophylaxis against infectious disease, geriatric uses (treatment of tiredness, weakness, loss of appetite, impaired memory, loss of libido), increased recovery from prostatitis, and diminishes side effects from cancer therapies.
Scutellaria baicalensis removes toxins, is antibacterial and antiviral, and supports the digestive system.
Saw palmeto(Serenoa repens) supports prostate health, is antiandrogenic and an anti-inflammatory agent, works as a mild sedative for the nervous system, stimulates appetite, improves digestion and thyroid deficiencies, helps to maintain prostate size, and supports healthy urinary tract performance.
Licorice (Glycyrrhiza uralensis) supports respiration, improves adrenal function, is an anti-inflammatory and antitoxin, improves air circulation, soothes joints, supports mucus production, and works as a demulcent. There are numerous antioxidant sources that could potentially assist in the treatment and prevention of cancer.
Tomatoes, a primary dietary source of lycopenes (among the most potent of the carotenoids), have been shown in epidemiological studies to lower the incidence of prostate cancer. Curcumin, a polyphenol derived from Curcuma longa L., or turmeric, inhibits carcinogenesis in several cancer models and has also been shown to possess anti-inflammatory activity, which is linked to tumor promotion. Other dietary phytochemicals have exhibited chemoprotective effects through anti-inflammatory properties and suppression of tumor growth, including the green tea polyphenol epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG) and resveratrol from grapes (Vitis vinifera). Quercitin, in addition to resveratrol, induces apoptosis in several varieties of cancer cells. The
Green tea polyphenol EGCG shows evidence of decreasing the drug resistance phenotype in certain cancer cells and inhibiting angiogen isis.
The dietary botanical Rosemary increases the intracellular accumulation of commonly used chemotherapeutic agents, and therefore may be useful as an adjunct in chemotherapy. Extract of rosemary exhibits a protective effect against oxidative damage to DNA as a consequence of its ability to scavenge free radicals and singlet oxygen, which, while not itself a free radical, it is a powerful oxidizing agent. At least two mechanisms are involved in the anticarcinogenic effects of rosemary extract. The extract inhibits the metabolic activation of carcinogens catalysed by the liver detoxification phase I cytochrome P450 enzymes and induces the phase II detoxification pathway which is catalyzed by enzymes, such as glutathione S-transferase. It has been shown that the risk of developing prostate cancer is inversely associated with the plasma concentrations of zeaxanthin, lutein, and beta-cryptoxanthin.
The use of several powerful antioxidants may decrease the risk of developing breast, colon, lung, prostate, ovarian, and uterine cancers. Arming your immune system with the tools to fight the onslaught of toxins, microorganisms, and stressors is the best defense.
CHINESE HERBS
Ganoderma lucidum (This magical mushroom is also known as Reishi or Ling zhi which means "herb of spiritual potientcy") supports the immune system, enhances circulation, protects liver function, and promotes energy transport and healthy cell function.Dandelion-Taraxacum mongolicum removes toxins, stimulates flow of bile, increases the flow of urine, and is antibacterial, antiviral, and antitumor.
Isatis indigotica ( Ban Lan Gen, Ch'Ing Tai, Dyer's Woad, Dyer's-woad, Tein-ching, Tien Hua, Wede, Woad)removes toxins, is antibacterial, enhances the action of the white blood cells, and supports circulation and blood flow.
Patrinia villosa supports a healthy functional nervous system, maintains nerve structures, cools liver toxicity, works as a lymphatic decongestant, is helpful in abdominal pain and appendicitis, and encourages blood circulation.
Panax notoginseng supports the nervous and circulatory systems, maintains nerve endings and structures, isantiinflammatory, analgesic, and anti-infective, and promotes blood flow.
Oldenlandia diffusa is antipyretic for fever, antiinflammatory, and a stimulant of the immune system, as well as having antitumor properties.
The cancer problem at the cell (molecular) level has been largely solved by Mirko Beljanski, Serbian born molecular scientist at the Pasteur's Institute (France) and other labs in the 70's and 80's. His work has been published in 133 research papers and is still largely ignored by most scientists for reasons that have nothing to do with science.
The challenge of the cancer cell must be met on three different levels. First, cancer cell multiplication must be selectively arrested without injury to normal cells. Second, competence of the immune system must be protected and/or restored for an active local and whole body defence. The third necessity concerns enzymes whose activity escapes normal biological regulation (this may be a cause or a consequence of cancer) and contributes to disease development.
The usual dogma that "there is no diffence between a normal cell and its cancerous version at the biomolecular level" is still well alive unfortunately. Challenging this dogma Beljanski found the main structural difference between normal cells and cancerous cells (animals and plants) and found substances that selectively bind to cancer cells but not healthy cells, a result that should have awarded him the Nobel prize. (As he discoverer of Reverse Transcriptase in bacteria, he should have been awarded as well). The other dogma in cancer research is that mutations are the main cause of cancer, but this reasearch path is a dead end.
This is one of the main causes why better treatments are still not found. Beljanski challenged this dogma as early as the 70's and that was the beginning of his troubles. He showed that mutations cannot acccount for the following proven facts : (Excerpts of Mirko Beljanski's book: The Regulation of DNA Replication and Transcription, Karger Ed.)
(a) Non-mutagenic steroids induce the appearance of cancer cells in mammalian steroid-target tissues.
(b) Sequence analysis of cancer and normal DNA and corresponding mRNA shows no difference between cancer
and normal DNA or corresponding mRNAs.
(c) Increased cancer cell multiplication in animals is correlated with strand separation and enhanced synthesis of cancer DNA in vitro in the presence of carcinogens. This was observed also with steoid hormones for hormone target tissue DNA.
(d) The appearance of cancer cells in mammal is not sudden but results from the persistent and cumulative effects of carcinogens on healthy cells.
(e) Some cancer cells may become differentiated or transformed into normal cells by DMSO, carcinogens or tumor promoters. Therefore, the answer lies not in the primary structure of the DNA but in its secondary structure (nobody before Beljanski thought to check that structure): all cancerous cells possess a destabilized DNA compared to healthy cells DNA :
(1) Cancer DNA from mammals and plants have a secondary structure wich is destabilized compared to DNA from healthy tissues.
(2) Carcinogens used at low concentrations further destabilize the secondary structure of cancer DNAs in vitro.
(3) Carcinogens strongly stimulate the in vitro synthesis of cancer DNA but only slightly that of DNA from halthy cells.
(4) Low doses of carcinogens stimulate both mammalian and plant cancer cell multiplication in situ.
In his Paper "A NEW APPROACH TO CANCER THERAPY" presented at the International Seminar on Traditional Medicine: "a Challenge of the twenty first century", November 7-9, 1992, Calcutta by Mirko Beljanski
"BLRs(Real Build) is solely and selectively prime replication of normal DNA, never that of cancer DNA. They can be used during conventional cancer therapy because they do not interfere with it and protect blood cells from its harmful side effects (49) 50 that there is no need to suspend the treatment, which can thus reach its maximum efficiency. Patients who start taking BLRs (by the oral route) early enough during conventional cancer therapy do not experience its usual side effects and are routinely able to pursue their normal activities.
Finally, we were able to propose biological regulators which, while also stemming from the principle of DNA restabilization, are not anticancer drugs, but contribute to cancer eradication by normalizing enzyme formation at gene level. These molecules, derived from different plants, have no toxic side effects. They prove useful in other pathologies such as viral infections and autoimmune diseases, where many enzymes are dysregulated and exhibit abnormally increased or decreased activity.
Our original approach to cancer therapy aims to restore homeostasis, first, at the very root of malignancy, the destabilized cancer DNA molecule, then at the level of essential enzymes such as nucleases and finally in the immune system. The validity of this strategy was demonstrated many years ago and it has proved operational and efficient as its use started to spread at the hands of physicians who understood its interest and were willing to take the risk of novelty; to this day, many patient shave benefited from it and survive in good condition. Our wish is to see our line of work develop and hopefully become adopted by others, as should also develop the search for new selective and nontoxic natural substances derived from the flora of different countries. In this way a new generation of anticancer drugs could at mankind's disposal in the coming years." One of his anticancer product, PB100 (Market name: Pao V), is also a powerful antiviral against AIDS virus and is not toxic contrary to most chemotherapy drugs.
Tips to watch for health fraud:
New health frauds pop up all the time, but the promoters usually fall back on the same old cliches and tricks to gain your trust and get your money. According to FDA, some red flags to watch out for include:
* claims the product works by a secret formula. (Legitimate scientists share their knowledge so their peers can review their data.)
* publicity only in the back pages of magazines, over the phone, by direct mail, in newspaper ads in the for that of news stories, or 30-minute commercials in talk show format. (Results of studies on bona fide treatments are generally reported first in medical journals.)
* claims the product is an amazing or miraculous breakthrough. (Real medical breakthroughs are few and far between, and when they happen, they're not touted as "amazing" or "miraculous" by any responsible scientist or journalist.)
* promises of easy weight loss. (For most people, the only way to lose weight is to eat less and exercise more.)
* promises of a quick, painless, guaranteed cure
* testimonials from satisfied customers. (These people may never have had the disease the product is supposed to cure, may be paid representatives, or may simply not exist. Often they're identified only by initials or first names.)
