A-Z GUIDE OF HEALTH & HAPPINESS

Forgive Completely and totally forgive yourself for all past mistakes, errors, mishaps, wrong doings, etc. This means that you acknowledge what you did (or what was done to you) and psychologically move on. Really believe that whatever has happened is over.

Garlic is rich in antioxidant phytochemicals that include organosulfur compounds as well as flavonoids such as allixin, which are capable of scavenging free radicals.Garlic also contains selenium, required for optimal function of the antioxidant enzyme glutathione peroxidase. Although the mechanisms of all garlic's components are not known, many of its cardiovascular-protective effects as well as its anti-inflammatory, anti-cancer and anti-aging effects are due to its antioxidant actions. Research shows garlic can lower cholesterol and other blood lipids, prevent lipid oxidation, protect blood vessels, and prevent blood platelet "stickiness."

Generosity. Have you ever stopped to really notice how you feel - body, mind and spirit - after you've thanked someone, acknowledged or encouraged someone, or given something away that was dear to you but you knew someone else needed more? How do you feel when you wave someone into traffic ahead of you? Sometimes they wave thanks back and sometimes they don't, but don't you feel good about the gesture anyway? These are small things, yes, but they mean so much in our day, in our outlook and the quality of our life. "What goes around comes around." Never has it been truer than when we speak about generosity, because the more you hold on to what you have, the less you are able to receive the wonderful bounty of life. The more you give in life, the more you actually receive.

Honey is man's oldest sweetener. It is composed of sugars like glucose and fructose and minerals like magnesium, potassium, calcium, sodium chlorine, sulphur, iron and phosphate. It contains vitamins B1, B2, C, B6, B5 and B3 all of which change according to the qualities of the nectar and pollen. Besides the above, copper, iodine, and zinc exist in it in small quantities. Several kinds of hormones are also present in it. If you have allergies, honey can be beneficial. You can also use it as a moisturizing mask for your skin as well as your hair. If you have a sore throat, take some honey.By applying honey to your wounds, you prevent infections. plays a big role in the prevention of cancer as well as heart disease. Another quality of honey is that, when it is compared with the same amount of sugar, it gives 40% less calories to the body. Although it gives great energy to the body, it does not add weight. Honey may also be effective in the treatment of your ulcers. In Europe, honey has been used internally to help cure ulcers, particularly stomach ulcers.

Iron is a mineral found in every cell of the body. It is vital for good health and for our mental and physical well being. It has three roles. To carry oxygen around the body. Every cell in the body needs oxygen. Think of your blood stream as a highway and iron (in the hemoglobin of red blood cells) as the vehicle that carries oxygen from your lungs to wherever it's needed. Ensuring a healthy immune system. The cells which fight infection and defend the body against foreign organisms depend on adequate stores of iron. So if your iron stores are low your body is prone to more frequent infections. Making Energy. Iron is essential in the chemical reactions that produce energy from food. So if your iron levels are low then you body may not be able to use all the energy available to it. The are two different type of iron in food: haem iron, found in red meat seafood and poultry, and non-haem iron found in breads, fruits, breakfast cereals, vegetable, legumes (e.g. baked beans), nuts and eggs.

Juices Fresh juices are a superior alternative to vaccinations. Why? Because a strong immune system will defend you against any disease including bacteria, viruses, and fungi. They are a source of raw food and live enzymes; also easily digested. They often contain chlorophyll and special protective phytochemicals which prevent chronic degenerative disease. They act as a substitute for less healthy foods and drinks; increases water intake (most people drink too little)and can help in weight loss.

Know yourself "Know thyself" was the motto that Socrates learned from the Oracle at Delphi. It is ancient wisdom, true today as it was in ancient Greece. In life's journey, at some point, you must begin the look for your true self. Otherwise, you are destined to live with a false sense of self, interpersonal conflict and career dissatisfaction.

Kindness is the simplest thing a person can do. When you choose to be kind, you get two results: The people to whom you are kind are blessed, and you are also being kind to yourself. By showing kindness everybody wins.

Like yourself. When we genuinely like ourselves, we become more attractive to other people. We have more to offer others because we are not constantly focused on our own image and reputation. We become better friends because we don't cling. We are secure enough to spend time with a friend because we want to, not because we need to.

Living. There is more to life than just living. There has got to be more to life than to just live. There should be a higher purpose in life. The purpose of life is to come to the real answer of ‘Who am I?'.
