Six Common Symptoms of Negative Thinking

. . . and What to do About Them
People who seem to have everything going for them all too often sabotage their own success through habitual patterns of negative thinking, say spiritual counselors

Michael C. Rann and Elizabeth Rann Arrott in their new book,Shortcut to a Miracle: How to Change Your Consciousness and Transform Your Life. Rann and Arrott are former, successful advertising and marketing executives who have found that while the value of “positive thinking” is widely recognized, many people limit their accomplishments through patterns of thinking they may not be aware of. Just like any other habit, habitual thought works for us when it’s positive and against us when it’s negative. Their ground-breaking book illustrates the amazing achievements people have realized through changes in their mental attitudes, ranging from a young housewife with six children who “thought her way” into a magnificent, spacious new home to a Swiss patent office clerk who revolutionized the world of science (his name happened to be Albert Einstein). A very common form of negative habitual thinking, Rann and Arrott have found, is “squirrel-caging.” Going over the same thing in our minds repeatedly—again and again—around, and around, and around, but, not going anywhere; not changing anything, just filling our minds with negative thoughts and emotions. Common examples are: • When we feel we were “wronged” or insulted • When we make a mistake or otherwise embarrass ourselves • When we take a strong dislike to someone and mentally criticize everything they do Every time we start “squirrel-caging,” we are recreating and reinforcing the associated negative emotion—usually, shame, embarrassment, anger, resentment or guilt. Sometimes we get caught up in these feelings and can’t seem to break the cycle. Trained thought, Rann and Arrott maintain, is essential to success. It intentionally and consistently focuses on what we want and not on what we don’t want. It is focused; it is intentional; it is habitual; it is positive. Above all, in ways that are nothing short of awesome (yet simply explained), trained thought connects with the Universal Power and Intelligence that created us, allowing It to move in and through our lives in life-enhancing ways. Trained thought lets us express healthy living, abundant living, wonderful relationships, overall success—and, yes, miracles--in our lives. But all that often goes out the window when we get caught up in negative thinking. By paying attention to how you think, you may find that there are a lot of negative thoughts, feelings and emotions directed toward yourself and others.

The Secret to Creating Your Future

Milon put down his notebook and looked out the window. It was the notebook the Wizard had given him. He was so very lucky, he felt, to have the knowledge of the secret of creating the future. Not many people even knew of it in his land, and he knew that having it made him very fortunate. The endowment of actually deciding what he wanted, and then to put it out in his future was something that he found quite common these days. Not that he took the skill for granted.

Most of the people in the land did not even know it was possible to create your future. Milon saw them complaining about their lack of power in the face of Nature, events, and other people. Milon saw them giving away their power to affect their own futures as well as others' futures. He saw people riddled with guilt, fear, anxiety, and lack of self control. He saw what he perceived to be their suffering and struggle, he knew his life was so much more comfortable than theirs, and he wondered if he could help them. He knew that while his daily stresses were not totally eliminated, his anxiety about the future was gone, and he knew that he was in control of his life „ he knew he had attained that elusive state called "self control."

How to Improve Your Love Life with the Power of Feng Shui

FENG shui (say "fung shway") is the art of creating a home environment that supports the life you wish to live. A key element of feng shui is creating a smooth flow of chi (positive energy) through your space. Chi likes to move through your home as though it were a gentle breeze or a meandering stream. Where it is blocked, the energy becomes stagnant--like a pond choked with algae and fallen leaves. You are likely to feel blocked in life, and your energy and enthusiasm for matters of the heart will be low. Balancing and correcting the chi of your bedroom helps encourage and invigorate romance. Here are some quick and easy ways to improve your love life by improving the energy of your home:

1. Clean up your bedroom
When your bedroom is cluttered and untidy, the energy in there will be low and slow. Clutter is a sure sign that chi is stuck, so roll up your sleeves and clean the place up if you want to jump-start your love life. Ring a bell, shake a rattle, or clap your hands loudly around the room to clear out old, stale energy.

Suffering from depression

Depression

Triple Complex Mood Tonic to Lift Mood - $ 23.95
Triple Complex Mood Tonic Tissue Salts is a 100% natural, safe, proven and effective natural supplement to optimize the nervous system, lift mood and reduce anxiety.
The most frequently searched prescription brands for depression treatments are -- Cymbalta, Effexor, Lexapro, and Prozac --

If you're not suffering from depression yourself, chances are that anywhere from 15 to 50 of every hundred people you know are. It is an insidious illness that sucks an individual further and further into a state of "impotence" and at the same time impacts the well-being of everyone who comes in contact with him/her. The numbers offered here are somewhat ambiguous because depression is only recently recognized as a real illness and not a figment of one's imagination.

Diane, who has been suffering from depression for more than eleven years, is one of those who are willing to talk about her illness. She says, "Most people are still very much surprised that I admit and am willing to talk openly about my depression. There is still a stigma associated with the disease. People still don't understand." For this reason, we won't use real names in this article although the people who shared their stories are very real.

Stress

In a 24/7 world, we're flirting with total burnout. But as long as we treat ourselves well in our downtime, whether by getting a manicure or a massage, we're minimizing the toll of stress, right?

Well, not exactly.

Despite our growing awareness of the effects of stress, we're going about reducing it all wrong, say experts. Rather than trying the "a little here, a little there" approach to repairing the damage in short spurts over weekends and on vacations, we'd do much better, they say, to minimize tension over the course of a day, every day. "What you want are daily pockets of peace," says Pamela Peeke, M.D., M.P.H., an assistant professor of medicine at the University of Maryland in Baltimore and author of Fight Fat After Forty (Penguin, 2001). "Exercise and self-massage are just a couple of examples of what we can do every day to keep stress levels from becoming toxic."

We can't eliminate all stress, of course, nor would we want to. Stress spurs us to meet demanding deadlines, or sprint to catch a bus. So, when does normal stress turn toxic?

Anger

Do not suppose you are hurt , and your complaint ceases. Cease your complaint , and you are not hurt.

Some people really are more "hotheaded" than others are; they get angry more easily and more intensely than the average person does. There are also those who don't show their anger in loud spectacular ways but are chronically irritable and grumpy. Easily angered people don't always curse and throw things; sometimes they withdraw socially, sulk, or get physically ill.

People who are easily angered generally have what some psychologists call a low tolerance for frustration, meaning simply that they feel that they should not have to be subjected to frustration, inconvenience, or annoyance. They can't take things in stride, and they're particularly infuriated if the situation seems somehow unjust: for example, being corrected for a minor mistake.

There are two types of angry person:

Meditation

How is Meditation Used Today?

People from all walks of life, in all the countries of the world belonging to all the possible religions, meditate for a wide variety of reasons. The same technique offers something different to each according to his needs and motives. Some of the motives for which people meditate today are:

1. To relax the body, mind and rejuvenate one¹s flow of energy in order to more effectively face the responsibilities of one¹s demanding and active life.

2. To heal illnesses (especially psychosomatic ones).

3. To overcome emotional problems.

4. To develop a more relaxed and positive view towards life.

5. To develop a peaceful and more clearly functioning mind.

6. For greater ability to penetrate into the core of problems and find inspirational solutions. This has been found especially useful by scientists and businessmen.

Ayurveda

The ancient science of Ayurveda is one of the oldest systems of health care in the world. Often called the mother of all healing, it originated in India over 5000 years ago and was taught for thousands of years from accomplished masters to their disciples. In Sanskrit, Ayurveda means the "science of life." Life is the integration of body, mind, and consciousness. The purpose of Ayurveda is to heal, to maintain a high quality of life, and to in-crease the longevity of the individual. It is a holistic clinical science as well as an art of daily living that has evolved from practical, philosophical, and spiritual insight. Ayurveda places great emphasis on prevention and encourages the maintenance of health through right thinking, proper diet and lifestyle, as well as the use of herbs and other therapies. Ayurveda is a science of self-understanding. By understanding our own unique constitution, we can begin to understand how we interact with our environ-ment and thus make choices that will lead us toward greater health.

Aromatherapy

A personal assessment by Martin Watt Cert. Phyt.

I view aromatherapy
as a system of helping the body to heal itself, partly by utilising
the physical and emotional properties of aromatic plant extracts. These
substances can be administered by a number of different means, for example
as part of massage; by direct external application; as internal medication;
in baths or showers; as room fragrances and in food.
It must be considered
when essential oils are used in massage if their effects are achieved
by psychological pathways; by physiological means; or by both.

In this connection, we have to consider that many aromatherapists
have not been using 100% pure essential oils for years

Despite these facts, aromatherapists seem
to have achieved excellent results in relieving stress related ailments.
Therefore, the question must be posed; how is it that despite using
non-natural essential oils, these successful results have been forthcoming?

Art of following Intuition

Listening to, trusting, and acting on your intuitive inner guidance is an art. Like any other art or discipline, it requires a certain commitment. It is an ongoing process in which we are always being challenged to move to a deeper level of self-trust.

For most of us, the practice of allowing our intuition to guide us is really a new way of life, very different from what we have been taught in the past. At times it may feel uncomfortable or even a bit frightening. If we have been conditioned to
try to approach life entirely rationally, to follow certain rules (or to automatically rebel against them), or to do what we think other people want us to do, then beginning to follow our own inner sense of truth is a major shift. It's natural for it to take some time and it may be a little difficult and confusing at certain moments. It's important to be very compassionate with ourselves in this process.

Left Handers

The area of handedness is filled with grey spots - there are no definite conclusions, nor definite proof of anything.

For the purposes of this document, being left-handed means having a preference for using your left hand for a variety of tasks, including reaching, throwing, pointing,

catching. It also implies a preference for using your left footfor tasks such as kicking, as well as the preferred foot withwhich to begin walking, running and bicycling. However, there are no hard and fast rules for determining which hand or foot the

Lefthander prefers to use for a particular task. Most will prefer to use the left hand or foot for delicate work.

One may also have a dominant left eye, preferring to use the left eye for telescopes, camera sights, and microscopes.

In general, being left-handed means having a dominant right side of the brain.

Feng Shui

Feng Shui (
pronounced Foong Shway or Fung Shoy) is the ancient Chinese art of luck management, which works by maximising the
flow of energy (known as 'Chi') in your environment. Every object, inanimate or living, possesses its own energy field and also has an affect on the flow of Chi in your environment.

The orientation and layout of your home, garden or business and its contents can impact your career, personal relationships, health and wealth. Whilst observing the basic rules of Feng Shui can greatly enhance your lifestyle, ignoring its principles can similarly bring misfortune and sorrow.

Feng Shui is a complex art which, when studied in-depth, uses birth dates,
colour and numerology when assessing how best to organise your home or office. However, there are simple rules that everyone can observe to help bring harmony into their lives
by increasing the flow of positive energy in their environment.
